Hobbs & Company provided electrical work for Lincoln University's Ivory V. Nelson Center for the Sciences, a 113,500-square-foot science facility serving chemistry, biology, physics, mathematics, and computer science programs.
The building combines teaching and research laboratories with classrooms and faculty spaces. Hobbs' work included electrical infrastructure supporting normal and emergency power distribution, laboratory equipment and bench circuits, fume hoods and laboratory exhaust systems, and laboratory lighting and controls.
This project provides directly relevant experience for modern laboratory and life sciences fit-outs.
Nemours Children's Hospital: Interventional Radiology Lab

Hobbs delivered the complete electrical scope for a new bi-plane interventional radiology suite inside the occupied Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children.
The project required phased construction around active hospital operations and included:
- Normal and emergency power distribution
- Life-safety, critical, and equipment branch segregation
- Connection to a 1,600 A emergency automatic transfer switch
- Isolated power systems
- 75 kVA UPS with bypass cabinet and battery support

Work was performed under infection-control protocols and included an enabling phase associated with adjacent Nuclear Medicine and Hot Lab areas.
Nemours Children's Hospital: 2W ADU Renovation

Hobbs completed the Division 26 electrical scope for the renovation of an inpatient unit containing operating rooms and other critical patient-care environments.
Electrical work included normal and emergency distribution, isolated power panels, transformers, feeders, equipment grounding and bonding, Megger/NETA testing, arc-flash labeling, HVAC connections, variable-frequency drives, fire alarm systems, and other critical infrastructure.
Construction was completed in phases inside an occupied hospital using off-hours shutdowns, tie-ins, and extended standby coverage to protect ongoing operations.
Critical UPS Installation: DELCORA
Hobbs installed a new UPS system supporting Delaware County Regional Water Quality Control Authority operations.
The project included integration of the UPS with existing transformers, switchgear, conduit, wiring, and SCADA monitoring infrastructure to provide conditioned, continuous power for processes that cannot tolerate interruption.
